At St. George’s English School, one of our main aims is to prepare our students for an international future on the global stage. From the outset, our students are fully immersed in English, our school’s main language. They are also taught Spanish, French and Basque.
We believe that full linguistic immersion from a very young age is the key to successful language learning. As our pupils start learning to read and write we introduce a system of English phonetics, and we focus on developing language, literacy and communication skills from the Early Years stage onwards.
As part of the NACE Schools group, we can offer our students the chance to participate in exchange programmes and cultural visits to England, Ireland, France and the United States. St. George’s English School has close ties to the prestigious Stonar School in the United Kingdom, also a member of the NACE Schools group. Students are given the opportunity to attend Sonar’s amazing summer courses and can also choose to study there for one or two terms, or even for a full academic year.
Being a member of the NACE Schools group has the considerable advantage of enabling our pupils to access the wide range of international events organised by the NACE group. These events provide our students with the perfect opportunity to interact with young people from other countries and cultures, and include:
The benefits of participating in international experiences of this type are immeasurable. Students have access to a platform that enables them to use and improve their language and social skills, whilst interacting and forging friendships with young people from all over the world.
